Tamizhaga Vazhvurimai Katchi (TVK) is likely to support AIADMK in
the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, party sources said on Thursday,
adding, that TVK founder Velmurugan is expected to announce his decision
on the alliance at the party’s conference scheduled to take place in
Salem on February 23.
“Our leader has been continuously criticising the DMK for supporting the Congress government at the Centre which had helped the Sri Lankan government during the Eelam war in which thousands of Tamils were killed. How can we join the DMK alliance then?” a TVK functionary said. The upcoming general elections would be the first for the party since its launch in 2012.
